Three Cheers, Three Cocktails: A Toast To Her

2.14.2018

Strong women... may we know them, may we be them, may we drink with them.

That's how the saying goes right? ;)

This past Sunday I had a chance to do just that and share drinks with a bunch of strong and wonderful women at a Galentine's brunch event hosted at one of my absolute favorite restaurants, CUCINA enoteca.

The event, which was to celebrate women we love with toasts in their honor, featured three delicious cocktails crafted by one of CUCINA enoteca's mixologists, Korie Rogers, featuring Pomp & Whimsy gin liqueur.

And honestly? These drinks were so delicious that it would be criminal not to share them with the world. Which is why I was super pumped today when the generous teams at CUCINA enoteca and Pomp & Whimsy let me know they were cool with me publishing the recipes.

So break out your jiggers, grab your gals and raise a glass filled with one of these amazing cocktails!

Before I dive into the drinks, I do want to share more of the gorgeous details and shots from this super special event (I think you'll understand why as you scroll through the pictures!). Everything about it was so thoughtfully arranged... from the brunch bites provided by CUCINA enoteca to the gift bags curated by The Giving Crate to the iridescent glasses full of Pomp & Whimsy to the delicate flowers on the Extraordinary Desserts.

The best part of all? This was truly an event for women by women: Urban Kitchen Group, Pomp & Whimsy, Extraordinary Desserts, The Giving Crate, Four Things Paper and Mon Voir are all Southern California women-owned businesses.

The menu for brunch included a number of CUCINA enoteca's yummy creations, but I went straight for the French toast. Because, I mean, look at it.

Everything I've ever eaten at any Urban Kitchen restaurant (CUCINA enoteca, CUCINA urbana or cucina SORELLA) has been delicious, but this French toast, man. It hit the spot. As did the cute little parfait jar of Greek Yogurt, passion fruit and granola awaiting me at my seat... and everything else I tried!

For dessert? We could either indulge in one of Extraordinary Desserts' art-pieces-turned-cakes or create our own work of dessert art and paint some cookies with Jenna of Mon Voir.

But for me the highlight of this event really was the cocktails. There were three cocktails crafted just for this event (the Land Mermaid, the I Love You, and I Like You, and the Friends, Waffles, Work), each of them featuring Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur and each one more yummy than the last.

By the way... Pomp & Whimsy is not just the name of the product. It's also the name of the female-owned and operated business behind the genius idea to infuse "classically distilled gin with a natural, delightfully flavorful botanical liqueur."

Delightfully infused gin? Count me in! It doesn't hurt that the bottle isn't too hard on the eyes either. It makes a great visual addition to your at-home bar.

Find a bottle, grab your ladies and make yourselves one (or all!) of these amazing concoctions!
